Brisco County Jr./Starman-You remember the story line with the poster that eats people? What if Brisco was one of the people they rescued from it?

Brisco County Jr./Runaways- Because it amuses me.

Brisco county Jr./Avatar- Also because it amuses me, that and I think Bisco and Lord Bowler would be a good influence on Zuko.

Brisco County Jr./Firefly- Because in addition to both being strange and awaesome takes on Westerns canceled by Fox in less than a season, Lord Bowler and Zoe have the same shotgun. Literaly. They reused the prop.

BCJ/Burn Notice- Beacuase I think it would be hilarious if Sam was decended from Brisco.

Art Brut are squee-causing.

There is something amazingly wonderful about a band who sings about finding out about a band that's been together for more than twenty years and dithering over whether to get a used copy (cheaper) or a re-issue (extra-tracks). I'm twenty-eight and they make me dance aroubd and giggle.

So I was flipping through channels and found this show on Spike, and being bored I watched it. They test a bunch of weapons of two types of fighters from different historical periods, then feed the stuff into a compter and run a thousand different simulations. The episode I watched was Spartan VS. ninja. I am of the opion they need a better computer program and/or a better fight choragrapher for the end fight scene to illistrate. Spartan won, but in the scene there were at least five times the ninja could have killed him. Such as the very begining when the ninja is hidder in a tree, with a blow gun, then LEAPS OUT OF HIDING TO USE IT! Um, no. He would have shot the big beefy unarmored arm, FROM HIDING! Blowfish poison=one shot, one kill. And a few times, where the ninja is behind and DOESN'T go for the exposed bak of the neck. That could just be the fight coridinators fault, but unless it was in the first five minitues I missed they didn't run endurance tests. You know, stick somebody in the armor and gear and see how they hold up running aroud in it? It wasn't in thier test recap. I'm reasonly sure how fast and well someone could move is sort of important in that sort of situation. A ninja so could have kicked the freakin' Spartans ass.

So I finshed reading Breaking Dawn last night. Got it from the library in late morning and had errands to run, dinner to make, finished watching a Netflix DVD, ect.
What I'm trying to say is I didn't spend the whole day with my nose in a book and it still took less than 14 hours to finish it from when I got it from the library. When I started Twilight I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about, I thoufgt I wouldn't even like it. Ha!

Gamers for Obama
I am frigging well GIDDY! I am also both very surprised and not in the least at the same time. After watching a couple hours of CNN I decided to take a break and just check every now and again... Go away, 200-something, come back 338!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pretty much giggled and did a happy dance around the living room until Obama made his speech. About which I can only say was beautiful, and that I'm a little misty eyed. And still giggly.

Squee, woot, hoody-hoo, huzzah and every other cry of jubilation ever.

Yesterday at work politics came up. I'm a librel, my boss and manager are both Repubilcan. I live in Illinois, at the begining of the year smoking will be illegal in public buildings. My manager chain smokes and is a bastard about it. He's supposed to go into the back room, and that's been the case for months. Yet yesterday he's been a complete bastard when anybody asked him to put it out. "You'll have to wait til next week." Direct quote. That'd be bad enough, but then the election comes up. I could be wrong but I get the immpression none of the R. canidates are conservitive enough for this guy. I really wouldn't care but then he calls my canidate evil. What the hell.  I don't even refer to Cheney as evil. (I'll refer to Anne Coulter as evil, but only because make-a-living-spewwing-hatred=evil)
I support Sen. Obama. So me and some other coworkers try to get him to explain his opinions. He doesn't name one policy, just those false rumors on the the internet. You know the Muslim/anti-American stuff? I want to slap this guy. If you say you think the black canidate is evil, but can't explain why, you're scared because he's black. Same for the woman, same for the gay. Face up to the fact you're a god-damned bigot already.
I'd say I should never bring up politics at work, but it's always the asshole that does.
Oh and I had to work late last night and he sits at his computer listening to G Gordon Liddy reall fucking loud. I had to about kill my ears turning up my iPod.

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Bard (3rd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-10

Dexterity-10

Constitution-13

Intelligence-12

Wisdom-12

Charisma-11

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Bards often serve as negotiators, messengers, scouts, and spies. They love to accompany heroes (and villains) to witness heroic (or villainous) deeds firsthand, since a bard who can tell a story from personal experience earns renown among his fellows. A bard casts arcane spells without any advance preparation, much like a sorcerer. Bards also share some specialized skills with rogues, and their knowledge of item lore is nearly unmatched. A high Charisma score allows a bard to cast high-level spells.

1. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.).
2. Put it on shuffle and press play.
3. For every question, type the song that's playing. When you go to a new question, go to the next song.
4. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of 30 September 2007). Bold what you have read, italicize what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. Add an asterisk to those you've read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list.

I picked volumes 15-19 of Sensual Phrase at Borders at around 9 PM last night. (Had to work late yuck) Then I went to gaming and was there until midnight or so. At which point  sit down with my manga and go through all five books in one go. Ended up being up until nearly 3. Did I mention I had to go into work today? Or that I would have done this at any point of the preceding week except that they were out of volume 15?

When I was at the register the clerk asked to card me (understandable given the subject manner), but then she's all 'I'm sorry, we can't sell this to anyone under 18.' To which I said 'Dude, I'm 27!' My only guess is that she had as long a day as I did and misread 1980 as 1990.

Sunday night I picked up FIVE volumes of Sensual Phrase (5-9). About five minutes before the bookstore closed Sunday night.  I finished volume 9 last night. That's five volumes in 2 days, in which I worked, one of which I worked overtime.
Yeesh.

I am such a giant dork.

pretty flowers

Since January I've started watching anime (on my own as opposed to whatever somebody put in on game night when no one wrote a adventure) and buying manga (because there are only about five comics a month I want to read these days). It's been ok though because I've been getting anime through Netflix and I've only been picking up Inu Yasha and Rurouni Kenshin a volume at a time. Up until now.

I picked up FIVE volumes (5-9) of Sensual Phrase (AKA Kaikan Phrase) tonight. There was a 'buy 4 get 1 free' sale on manga at Borders. And I started reading this series a week and a half ago and I already finished volume 4. It's rather safe to say I'm addicted. How the hell did I become addicted to a shojo?

Tori Amos
I remember being in middle school (I pretty much ignored music before then) and having my sister who was in college drive me somewhere with a mix tape in the stereo. It had the Indigo Girls, the Smiths, Melissa Ethridge, the Trashcan Sinatras and a couple other bands. Best of all though was Tori. She's still one of my favorites.
